Anyós nélkül nem lehetne?
Manapság a fiatalok nagy ívben elkerülik az oltárhoz vezető utat – különböző okból. Ám mégis vannak – ebben az elidegenedő és csak magukra koncentráló, felnövekvő emberpalánta társadalomban egy olyan elenyésző réteg -, akik szüleik nyomdokában a házasság intézményét választják. Persze ehhez meg kell találni azt az egyetlent, akiért érdemes felvállalni minden tortúrát.
Dániel fiam, aki idén ősszel tölti be harmincharmadik évét, születése óta meglepetéseket okoz. Az egyik legnagyobb problémája az volt, hogy nem talált egy olyan lányt, aki például igaz keresztény. Vagyis nem akar rögtön, az első randi alkalmával ágyba bújni. Sőt, ez csak házasságkötés után lehetséges. Ilyen lányt nagyítóval sem talált.
No szex!
Ám az internet világa csodákra képes, mert egy társkereső oldalon – amit kimondottan keresztény fiataloknak tartanak fent – rábukkant egy Fülöp-szigeteki lányra, aki messze nem hasonlított az eddigi felhozatalra. No sex házasság előtt – vallotta Krisztina is. Másfél évig az internet volt a közvetítő elem, majd fiam Londonból – mert hogy már ott él évek óta – kiment meglátogatni hazájában a lányt.
Nagyon drukkoltam, hogy a szagminta mindkettőjük pozitívan jöjjön be, és láss csodát, a szerelem újabb magaslatokba csapott. Az érzés tovább erősödött mindkettőjükben, a nyíl egyenesen a házasságkötő terem felé mutatott. Annyit tudtam, hogy idén lesz valamikor a nagy esemény, de hogy ilyen hamar?
Márciusban azt mondja nekem fiam a Skype-on keresztül: „Anya, intézd a papírokat, mert áprilisban házasodom.”
A bürokrácia útvesztőjében
Lázba jöttem, hogy íme, elkövetkezett az, amiért annyit imádkoztam. Március közepétől nem tettem mást, mint az iratok után loholtam. Különböző pecséteket, piros szalagokat, aláírásokat szereztem be – persze kemény forintért. Teljesen kidöglesztett, hogy nem tudtam sosem, mi a sorrend, mert igazából senki sem tudta megmondani, hogy melyiknek a beszerzésével kell kezdeni, mi az ésszerű, és gyakran futottam zátonyra, mert rossz tippet adtak – akár szakemberek is. Lemaradt pecsét és aláírás miatt volt, hogy vissza kellett menni a szingli papír miatt – ami azt igazolta, hogy fiam nem követ el bigámiát. Dániel kérésének megfelelően hivatalos másolatot akartam az összes szükséges okiratról, ám a közjegyző nem vállalta, mert olyan helyeken voltak takarásban – az oldalak összekapcsolása miatt – dátumok, fontos szövegrészek, adatok, hogy azt mondta, lehetetlen, amit kérek tőle.
Ám a Fülöp-szigeteki Nagykövetség nem ismert lehetetlent – elkészítette a hivatalos másolatot öt perc alatt – ugyanannyiért, mint az eredetit… Kérte fiam, hogy ezt a másolatot küldjem el postán a makáti önkormányzatnak s.o.s. Rendben – mondtam, és irány a Fehérvári úti nagy posta. Ott tanácstalanul rohangásztak, mert a Fülöp Szigetek egyszerűen nem szerepelt a listájukon – tavaly még megvolt, mondta egy férfi dolgozó. Hívtam a FEDEX-et, aki csekély 16-17 ezer forintért három nap alatt teljesítették volna a szállítást. Mivel délután már nem dolgoztak a cégnél, úgy nézett ki, hogy én hamarabb ott leszek a másolt okiratokkal, mintha FEDEX-en keresztül drága pénzért rendelnénk meg a szállításukat.
A titokzatos Y úr
Ráadásul szegény Krisztina is hasonló problémával küzdött hazájában – ott sem volt egyszerű a történet. Félő volt, hogy több ezer kilométer repülés után végül kitalálják, miért is hiányosak a megszerzett dokumentumok, és dolga-végezetlenül kulloghat haza ki-ki saját otthonába. Az ifjú feleség-jelölt jelezte, hogy a Fülöp-szigeteken a magyar konzulátus megszűnt, ám Y úr – mint a macskának, aminek több élete van – tiszteletbeli konzul funkcióval bírt, illetve bír napjainkban is. Igaz, az itthoni Fülöp-szigeteki Nagykövetségen azt mondták, hogy ennek az Y úrnak nincs semmilyen funkciója, ám hazájában más szelek fújnak.
(Ezzel kapcsolatban az alábbiakat vizualizálom: lelki szemeim előtt látom, ahogy elbontják a nagykövetség minden tégláját a lojális Y úr körül, de ő csak ül az íróasztalánál, mint a rendíthetetlen ólomkatona. Kapaszkodik a hivatalos pecsételőjébe, mint a Jégkorszak című rajzfilm mókus figurája az egy szem mogyorójába. Ellentmondást nem tűrően stemplizik, az iratok csak úgy füstölnek.) Úgy képzeljük el a dolgot, mint amikor egy rendőr elmegy nyugdíjba, és utána ugyanúgy letartoztat, ugyanúgy intézkedhet, mint amikor szolgálatban volt. Ez a rugalmasság csodálatos, mert Y úr bár egy nagy biztosítónál szakít le egy kevéske pesot megfeszített munkájáért, ám ez a funkciómentes tiszteletbeliség is hoz konyhára egy kis pénzt.
Sőt, az önkormányzat egyenesen igényt tart szolgáltatására, mert az ifjú párokat kötelezi, hogy beszerezzenek engedélyt Y úrtól, akinek nem az erőssége a számlaadás. A makati önkormányzathoz tartozik pár százezer fiatal (az utánpótlásról gondoskodnak az életigenlő szülők), ők fizetnek Y úr láttamozásáért. Ennyi erővel akár a sarki fűszerest is megkérhetnék, hogy firkáljon már alá. És amilyen rosszmájú vagyok – feltételezem, hogy az önkormányzat egyes alkalmazottai feleznek Y úrral a hasznon. Okos. (Eme eszmefuttatás csak az én kútfőmből származik, tényekkel nem tudom alátámasztani, Y úrral nem találkoztam, bár kétszer is jártam a puccos irodájában a nyolcadik emeleten – egy csili-vili Makáti irodaházban. Hiába, ott is minden igényt kielégítőek a biztosító épületei, mint itthon! Sőt, még a vécé is egészen jól működött.)
Ám ne fussunk előre, nem tesz jót a rohanás. Még itthon vagyok, Budapesten, kedd délután ötkor el kell hagynom otthonomat, ám még délután kettőkor javában csomagolok. Fogalmam sincs, hogy mit tegyek a bőröndbe. Tudom, hogy meleg lesz, szeretem a változatos öltözetet, de éreztem, hogy csak sötétben tapogatózom. Fogalmam sem volt, mennyi húsz kiló, el kellett kérnem a szomszéd Erzsike néni mérlegét. Ebből kiderült, hogy már tíz kilót is nehezen mozgatok.
Soha nem voltam nagy utazó – pénz hiányában, repülőgépen sem ültem soha. Csak egy 25 személyes repcsin utaztam egy órát munkaügyben. Ráadásul itthonról nem közvetlenül mentem a szigetekre, hanem Londonon keresztül, ahonnan már – a tervek szerint – Danival együtt repülnék tovább. Itthon még hideg volt, amikor elindultam 2014. április 16-án (három hetes ott tartózkodás várt rám), feltételezhetően Londonban úgyszintén hasonló időjárásra számíthatok. Tehát meleg cucc kell.
A huzatos reptér
Első átszállásom színhelye Düsseldorf, ahol az éjszakát a repülőtéren töltöttem. Szép rendesen fagyasztották a népet. Láttam, hogy akikkel együtt éjszakáztam – hasonló okokból, mint én – még az ólajtót is magukra húzták volna, ha tehették volna. Reggelre az arcom lefagyott a helyéről. A nagy bőrönd a légi társaságnál, a kézi poggyászban meg semmi olyan, ami melegítene. Először egy görög fiatalemberrel próbáltam zöld-ágra vergődni. Ám ő csak németül tudott, és amúgy sem volt beszédes. Hihetetlenül untam a közelségét. Én pedig köztudottan nem komálom a néma leventéket, tehát tovább álltam. Utána néztem egy beszédes társnak. Felfedeztem egy hatvanöt-hetven év körüli hölgyet, ősz hajával, ruganyos lépteivel, könnyű vállra akasztható bőrtáskájával és a kezében egy fontos ruhanemű. Egy könnyű átmeneti kabát. Vele pillanatok alatt szót értettem, mivel ő is imád beszélgetni. Sőt, túlságosan sokat beszélt, nehezen rúgtam labdába, néha azért sikerült. Kiderült, hogy Helénnek (így hívták őt) egy utazási bérlete van, és Németországban keresztül-kasul repked már napok óta. Szeret mindenkitől függetlenül létezni. Mivel nem használta a kabátját, öt perc után már kölcsön kértem, és bár nem volt igazán melegnek mondható, ám a semminél sokkal többet ért. Elszenderültem a kényelmetlen padon, ami ténylegesen csak ülésre volt alkalmas. Hajnali kettőkor felébresztett édes úti társam, hogy tovább áll. Sajnos a kabátnak lőttek!
Reggel hétkor viszont már indult a repülőgépem Heathrow-ra, a világ egyik legnagyobb repülőterére.
Kinyomoztam, hogy pontosan a 4-es terminál mely pontjáról indul tovább a gépem Manilába, aminek az időpontját csak körülbelül tudtam, mivel a jegyet Dani vette. Megkértem a készséges reptéri alkalmazottakat, hogy keressék meg a Manilába menő utasok neve között a mienket. Miután ez megvolt, megtudtam, hogy már csak tíz perc van a becsekkolásig. Dani sehol. Mondtam, hogy a fiam elég fontos, mivel nősülni megy a Fülöp-Szigetekre. Rendesek voltak, mert nagyon drukkoltak a fiam érkezéséhez. Már csak pár perc volt az indulásig. Eközben elhatároztam, hogy ha nem jön, én egyedül vágok neki a világ másik felének. A jegymódosítás nagyon sokba kerül. Ám egyszer csak feltűnt fiam sovány alakja a melankolikusok teljes nyugalmával, mintha éppen egy doboz gyufáért ugrott volna le.
Ez alatt a három hét alatt kiélhettem kalandor hajlamom, kinyílt számomra a nagyvilág. Út közben megfigyelhettem az emberek viselkedését, a ruházatukat – ez életem egyik legkedveltebb elfoglaltsága. A különböző légitársaságok hölgyeinek kész költemények voltak az öltözékei. A Royal Brunei Airlines légi kísérői vitték el a pálmát.
Ők az Emirates utaskísérői, akik csinosak, kedvesek és szépek. Meg kell állapítani, hogy én még azokban az években nem fotóztam, egyáltalán nem foglalkoztam ezzel, bezzeg pár éve, mire rájöttem az ízére, már mobillal közlekedem, hogy rögtön megörökítsem a pillanatokat. Pedig micsoda klassz dolgokat kaptam lencsevégre, de csak gondolatban, ezen a nem mindennapi utazáson:
Csinos, sötétbarna szoknyához, világos színű alapon ízléses virágminták. A kontyba felfogott hajuk tetejében fehér pici kalapszerű tartotta a lehelet finom anyagból készített vajszínű kendőt, melyet igen ügyesen ejtettek a nyakuk, válluk köré (iszlám ihletés).
Egy, a sok élmény közül: amíg vártam a Heathrow-i repülőtéren egy újabb felemelő élményre, a padon mellém ült egy teljesen fekete lebernyegbe (csador) burkolózott, kissé testes nagymama. Korán volt a kezében, és arany keretes szemüvegén keresztül (meztelen, őzbarna szemeivel) figyelmesen olvasta a sorokat. Mellette a mai kor szellemének megfelelően a tizenhat év körüli fiú unoka – unott arccal. Szokásos kép: füléből zsinórok vezettek egy kis zenekütyühöz. Kezében kólás üveg, szerelése a legtutibb márkás cuccokból összeválogatva. Neki már semmi köze a hagyományokhoz. Feltételezhetően neki nincsenek világmegváltó gondolatai, mivel a jólétbe beleszületett.
Ha nem szólt a jegyem ablak mellé, pár perc múlva már valamelyik ovális üveghez nyomtam az orromat, hogy minél többet lássak onnan, fentről, ami nemrég még annyira távoli volt számomra.
A felhők megfigyelése akár, mintha képes mesekönyvet lapozgatnánk. Megunhatatlan: vágtázó paripák, hó mezők, kimagasló hegyekkel, „tengerszemekkel”, alattunk, mélyen városok fényei vonulnak, mint tüzes óriáskígyók. Fent, a magasban járunk, a gép nyugodtan dorombol, mint egy jóllakott, kövér kandúr. Néha egy kicsit megdob bennünket, de ettől még aludhatunk vagy gondolkodhatunk, semmi nem zavar.
Kitört a forradalom?
Amikor a manilai repülőtéren leszálltunk a gépről fiammal, a hosszú útról megérkezetteket nem a fő épületben várták, mint ahogy lenni szokott más repterekhez hasonlóan, hanem egy hihetetlenül forgalmas úton kellett áthaladni.
Hullafáradt voltam ennyi repülés után, de kimondhatatlanul boldog is:
Ez egy fittségi próba. Ha nem sikerült az átkelés, úgy jártál! Az út másik oldalán – majd leesett az állam – elképesztő embertömeg. „Úr Isten, csak nem tört ki a forradalom? Mi van itt?” – képedtem el. Nem tudtam, hogy ez csak egy kis ízelítő abból, hogy a „sok” fogalmát át kell kódolnom fejemben. Végül egész hamar sikerült Krisztináékat megtalálni. Egy rokon kényelmes kocsija haza repített bennünket.
Ezen a fotón már a földön állunk két lábbal, de nem tudtam volna elképzelni abban a légkondis, hűs levegőben, mekkora hőség vár ránk (bal kézről Kriszta édesanyja, aztán fiam, tőle jobbra Kriszta, akkor még menyasszony-jelölt és jobb szélső pedig én, Simon Mara):
Csak egyetlen dologra vágytam több napos utazást követően, hogy végre lezuhanyozhassak.
I’m going to take a shower –, löktem az angol rizsát, akár a nagyok, és már mentem is a fürdőszobába.
A helyiség méretével semmi probléma, csak a zuhanyzót nem találtam sehol. A vécé félig tele vízzel. Leöblíteni csak úgy lehetséges, ha a következőt tesszük: derékmagasságban egy vízcsap lóg ki a falból. Ez alatt egy nagy műanyag hordó. Ebben a hordóban gyűjtik össze a vizet, és ebből meregetjük ki a vizet vagy nyeles műanyag edénnyel, vagy lavórral. (Amennyiben „nagy-dolgunk” akad, akkor viszont minden erőnket latba kell vetni, és egymásután irtó gyorsan kell leöblíteni a vécét. Ezt csak azért részletezem, hogy ha Krisztináéknál kötnének ki egyszer, ne kelljen törniük a fejüket, mi a teendőjük. Nekem ugyanis két napomba tellett, hogy rájöjjek ezekre.) Így zuhanyzunk, illetve így öblítjük le a vizet. A vécé-papír persze újabb feladvány, mert nem lehet a vécébe dobni, nejlon zacskó pedig a szobában vagy a konyhában van – számomra eldugva. A használt papírt ki kell csempészni a konyhába, egy szögre felakasztott pici kis nejlon zacskóba, ami a szemetes. A hangyák kedvenc Kék-túra útvonala ez a falrész.
Az egyenlőtlen, hepehupás betonpadlón örökké vízben tocsogtunk, ha bármi dolgunk akadt a fürdőszobában. Bent egy picike kis mosdókagyló is található, melynek csapján keresztül elég régen jöhetett víz. Felette egy kis kerek, homályos tükör, mely a rohanó idővel nem akar farkasszemet nézni. Innen egy kis ablak nyílt a konyhába nem tudom, milyen meggondolásból. Egyik helyiségnek sem volt egyébként a külvilággal kapcsolatuk, mert ablakuk egyiknek sem volt. Viszont mivel nem volt plafon a házban, ha felnéztünk, rögtön a palával és egyéb tetőfedésre alkalmas anyagokat láthattuk a fejünk felett. Az elnagyolt munka következtében keletkezett réseken keresztül is szellőzött a ház. Meg kell állapítani viszont, amikor elutazásunk előtt kétszer is komoly eső esett, sehol nem ázott be, tehát a mesteremberek jó munkát végeztek. Idén már sikerült rendbe hozatni a házat, hála Istennek. (Ha megtalálok fotókat a felújított házról, akkor beteszem ide.)
Kutyát nyúl-ketrecben tartottak!
Természetesen amikor hatalmas monszun esőzés tört ki, a gyerekek kirohantak az utcára, és örömtáncot lejtettek.
Legszívesebben én is csatlakoztam volna hozzájuk, de nem tudom, mit szóltak volna hozzá a szomszédok. Így is elég furának tartották még Krisztináék is, hogy Micsit, a tíz éves keverék, kis méretű, piszkosfehér kutyájukat pártfogásomba vettem. Ugyanis itt a kutyákat nyúl ketrec-szerű „kutyaházban” tartják, míg fel nem dobják a talpukat. Onnan ki nem mehetnek. Én, mint ős-állatvédő (utcáról adaptált két kutyámmal és három macskámmal) majd elpusztultam a látványuktól. Az utcákon is gyakran láttam, hogy az út mentén ketrecben sínylődnek az ebek, nem veszik őket kutyaszámba. A mindig boldogtalanul nyüszögő Micsi körmei is több centis, behajlott karmokká nőnek, mert a séta hiányában nem kopnak maguktól.
- Krisztina, minek tartotok kutyát?
- A nagypapa kutyája Micsi. És jelez. (A kutya nevét fonetikusan írtam le.)
Három hétig minden nap kiszabadítottam – persze mindig engedélyüket kértem e műveletre – Micsit, aki nem vágyott semmire jobban, mint egy kis emberi szóra. Az ajtójuk elé kötöttem a derék ebet, és így legalább többet látott a nagy történésekből. A közvetlen szomszédnál kettő kis éhenkórász kutyát sanyargattak ketrecben. A kakasokat is kipányvázzák az út mentén, hogy ne üssék el a járművek. A macskáknak sem volt könnyebb a sorsuk, csontsoványak, az éhségtől állandóan szédelegtek. Az út szélén található csatorna lefolyóba öntik ki a kaja maradványt(?) vagy mosogatólét, és ebből próbálnak a macskák táplálékot találni maguknak. Nem tudom…
Ez a fotó akkor készült, amikor Krisztiéktól elmentem az egyik kis rokon lánnyal vásárolni kenyeret, amely édeskés ízű, amit igen nem kedveltem, de az már az én bajom volt:
Inkább nem megyek férjhez
Tehát mivel nem tudtam megtagadni magamat, mármint azt, hogy ha valaki vagy valami kiszolgáltatott helyzetbe kerül, én azon mód segítségére sietek – kéretlenül is, Krisztina riadót fújt.
Egy ilyen anyós, aki nem tud a bőrében nyugton maradni, és mindig van saját véleménye, igen veszélyes lehet a jövőt illetően. Szabályszerűen megijedt tőlem. Majdnem vissza akarta mondani a partit. Mint mondta később, amikor még csak a Skype-on keresztül beszéltünk, sokkal szelídebbnek tűntem neki. A valóságban pedig „olyan szigorú vagyok”.
A filippin szülőknek – az európai szülőkkel ellentétben – elég nagy a befolyásuk gyermekeik életének az alakításában. Ezért rettegett Kriszti attól, hogy majd velem is hadakoznia kell az érvényesülése miatt. (Persze ha meggondolom, ők több száz vagy több ezer kilométer távolságban fognak élni tőlem. Ennyire nem vagyok erős akaratú.) Csodálkozott Kriszti, hogy nálunk nem a szülő mondja meg, kihez mehet hozzá a gyermeke. Nehezen értette meg, hogy nálunk a szülő nem egy elágazáshoz leszúrt közlekedési tábla, amely a helyes utat jelzi a vándornak.
Az utcán történik minden
A föld másik felén szinte egész évben kint élnek a keskeny utcákon. Alig férnek el a járművek.
A szembe házban, ahol legalább hat kisgyerek kukucskál ki az ablakokból, a mama egész vasárnap mos egy lavór vízben – a ház előtt. Meg nem áll egy percre sem. A házak falánál kezdődik az autóút. Ha valaki a szedett-vetett házában lefekszik a priccsére, és a réseken át véletlenül kidugja a kezét, simán leamputálhatják az autók.
Ha zene szól, a gyerekek kirohannak az utcára, hogy táncoljanak. Bent nem sok hely van, mert minden szűk, kalodaszerű. Krisztiéknél is majd megőrülök attól, hogy fogalmam sincs, hol az én kis territóriumom, hova tehetem a cuccaimat. Bőröndben tartom a ruháimat, mintha bármelyik pillanatban menekülőre kéne fognom. A bútorok eltorlaszolták a közlekedési utat. Állandóan bukdácsoltunk különböző akadályokon keresztül, ha át akartunk jutni egyik helyiségből a másikba. Semmi nem volt praktikus és ésszerű – persze ez az én véleményem. Nagyon kreatívnak kellett lennem ahhoz, hogy ne buggyanjak meg.
A szemétszállítás rendszeres. Egy Férdi és Béni típusú, ősbatár autó, melyen polcokra dobják fel – nem gépi segítséggel – a szemetes zacskókat. Ha ők látnák, hogy itt, Magyarországon milyen úri dolguk van a kukásoknak, rögtön disszidálnának. Szemétszagot sosem fogott vadászkutyát meghazudtoló szimatom. Az ivóvizet is rendszeresen hozza egy fiatal férfi hatalmas ballonban ugyanúgy, mint a gázpalackot.
Bár a témát illetően nem éppen ide illik, de az ott tartózkodás és maga, az élet is sok-sok apró történésből áll össze, tehát itt pontosan jó helye lesz ennek a kis mozzanatnak, amit a Facebook hozott fel, és utólag át-transzportáltam ide: A fotó egy kagyló múzeumban készült. Kint csak 45 celsius fok, bent viszont legalább 50, plussz még a levegőtlenségtől is szenvedtünk. Épp az elpusztulás gondolatát próbáltam elhessenteni magamtól. A múzeum vezetője egy kis cserebogár emberke volt, viszont szerette a szeszes italt és a nőket. Hüm…
Rengetegszer tapasztaltam, hogy a filippínók az utca emberei. Minden ott dől el, de ahogy mondtam már, rá kellett jönnöm, miért, mert az édes otthonban nem sok a mozgásterük. Az megint más kérdés, hogy aki hontalan, egy karton papírt leterítve máris kialakítja mobil otthonát, és már alszik is. Mást úgy sem tehet nagyon. A muzikalitásuk mindig felüti a fejét, mint ahogy a hóvirág judugja apró fejecskéjét az avar alól kora tavasszal.
Amikor ügyeinket intéztük Makátiban, egy forgalmas helyen egy autóból tánczene bömbölt. Egy öreg, sovány férfi el kezdett magától értetődően táncolni, a többiek tapsoltak örömükben. Én meg élveztem a spontaneitás varázsát, amitől az európaiak inkább megbotránkoznának.
Pár centire a rohanó járművekből láthatjuk a borbélyt munka közben. Annyira közel kerül hozzánk, a busz utasaihoz, hogy szinte a vendég hajába is bele tudnánk túrni. Egy összecsukható asztalnál a hentes is fellógatta az az-napra szánt fél, füstölt disznóját. Körbe állták a férfiak, mint valami műtárgyat. Arrébb autójavító, mellette bútorasztalos stb.
Az út mentén, bárhol felállítanak egy kis műanyag asztalt, rá tesznek egy félbe vágott tököt meg egy dinnyét, és már az egész család ott árulja a zöldséget, gyümölcsöt, hátha lesz egy kis bevételük. Fém platnin valami hihetetlen bűzös húst sütnek, az egész környék fuldoklik ettől a szagtól. Vagy lehet, hogy csak én, egyedül?
A forgalmas helyeken rengetegszer láttam, hogy utcai árusként próbálnak a nép fiai megélni: magukra aggatnak – mint a karácsonyfára a díszeket – zacskós kiszerelésű rágcsálni valót, esetleg pár szendvicset, ásványvizet. Ezekkel egyensúlyoznak a forgalmas helyeken, ahol torlódtak a járművek, közöttük cikázva igyekeztek eladni portékájukat. Akinek már egy kis keréken guruló árudája volt, menőnek számított. Ők már gazdagabb kasztba tartoztak, nem is voltak olyan gebék, mint a kézi árusok.
A nagy tömeg viszont arról szólt, hogy már rég belefásult abba: nincs munka. Ha nálunk nincs munka – mondjuk mi, magyarok, ott meg aztán végképp nincs. Ezért mennek külföldre a filippinók, ám munkájukért külhonban sokkal kevesebbet kapnak, mint a hazai pályán mozgók. Pld. két éves szerződést sikerült Krisztinának kétszáz jelentkező közül megkötnie a dubai Mc’ Donald’s-szal. Vezetőknek fog tréningeket tartani. Ám ott csak kétszer annyit kap ezért, míg ha angol munkaerőt alkalmaznának, ugyanazért a munkáért már négyszer annyit fizetnének. Vagyis a nemzeti hovatartozás is erősen beárazza a munkabért.
A multik a Fülöp Szigetekre is betették lábukat, minden valamire való nagy cég kikanyarít a vásárló erőből. Ugyanúgy vannak Burger King gyors étkezdék és társaik, láttatják magukat a nagy kozmetikai cégek stb., a network marketing nem ismeretlen ott sem. A tévé-reklámok és kvíz műsorok ugyanúgy hülyítik a népet. Az örök derű, móka-kacagás jellemzi a műsorokat, mű-báj-de-szép-a-ruhád-fogyok-válok-sikeres-vagyok-most-búvárkodni-megyek. Apropó: a „válás” fogalma kevéssé ismeretes a Fülöp Szigeteken. Egyszerűen nem válnak el, legfeljebb külön költöznek. Csak a gazdagok tudják lepénzelni a hivatalokat, hogy kimondják a válást. A tévé- és rádióműsorokban állandóan nevető-hangeffektusokat csempésznek be egy gomb megnyomásával, mintegy bebeszélik az embereknek, mindenkinek mennyire pazar az élete. Örüljenek, hogy lyuk van a fenekükön.

Amikor elmentünk pár napra a tengerre, nagyon nagy élményt jelentett. Ebben a szállóban laktunk. Közvetlenül a tengerparton. Imádtam:
Így néz ki belülről. A boldog, ifjú párral láttatjuk az éttermet:
A naplemente a tengerre nyíló teraszról már giccsesnek tűnt. Éjszakára az apály olyan hatással volt rám mintha egy óriás, ismeretlen ősállat vonult volna vissza megközelíthetetlen pihenő helyére.
Az éjszaka sötét, végtelenbe nyúlóan, mégis megnyugtató, és fiammal közösen a tenger fölé épített teraszon. Mit mondjak, élveztem minden másodpercét:
Természetesen az éjszakai úszást nem hagyhattam ki. Erről álmodoztam már régóta, hogy fekszem a vízen hanyatt, mozdulatlanul, és a végtelen csillagos ég felettem. Félelmetes-szép volt.
Akik tengerre mennek, biztos, nem a munkanélküliek széles táborába tartoznak. Összeismerkedtem egy kissé molett, harminc éves nőcivel a tengeri szálloda úszó medencéjénél. Az uszoda természetesen illatos délszaki növényekkel körülvéve – ahogy elvárható. A friss ismeretségből származó nő az ingatlanpiacon próbált érvényesülni. Még alig szóltam pár szót, már a drága ingatlanjainak egyikét akarta rám sózni. Ahogy azonban megfigyelhettem másnap a férjét is, mert együtt fényképezkedtek a tengerparton, lehet, hogy a párja vállalkozása a tutibb, mert igen önelégült képpel, szinte leereszkedően tűrte, hogy felesége átölelje hízásnak indult derekát.

A tengerre csak tehetősebb emberek juthatnak el, mert először is a főváros és annak körzetétől nagyon messze van. Négy órát utaztunk a végtelen csodához különböző járművekkel, ami bizony pénzbe, időbe és energiába kerül. Ahhoz, hogy valaki bedugja lábikráját a finom, lágyan simogató, gyógyvíz hatású tiszta vízbe, kemény pesoba kerül. Vagy napi jeggyel, vagy pedig hotelszoba lefoglalásával igazolnia kell, hogy jogosult a tenger adta örömökre. Persze a déli részen már szabadon mehet bárki a tengerpartra, ám lehet, hogy nem tér vissza, mert a keresztény-iszlám ellentétek néha öldöklésbe fordulnak. Fentiekből következően és abból, hogy uszodák nincsenek, az úszásoktatás is elég hiányos, a filippinek nem tudnak úszni. Hüm. A tengerben egyedül mi úsztunk a fiammal.
Próbáltam Krisztináékhoz alkalmazkodni, önfejűségemet finomítani, így felvetettem, hogy elmegyek egy kicsit sétálni.
Nem lehet –, érkezett a válasz.
Miért? –, kérdeztem.
Mert kint rossz emberek vannak.
A későbbiekben persze összeállt a kép a közbiztonságról, hogy fehér emberek legfeljebb a nagyvárosok belső kerületében flangálhatnak csak úgy, a kíváncsiságtól hajtva, mert ahogy távolodunk a központtól, úgy csökken a biztonsági szint is. Vagyis nem szerették volna Krisztiék, ha egyszer csak az – akkor még – anyós jelölt eltűnik a nagy süllyesztőben.
A betonozás ABC-je
Vasárnap az emberek igen tevékenyek, már reggel hétkor izzott a környék a tettre készségtől. Lehet, hogy a mi tiszteletünkre, mindenesetre valahol, nem messze zene bömbölt, a kipányvázott kakasok kukorékoltak, bár őket imádom a legjobban, a motorokat bömböltetik a tehetősebbek – karbantartás címén.
Krisztináéknál mindenki elégedetten ereget ki magából dallamokat. Angéla, a 61 éves mama, akit időről időre rosszullét fog el, az orvosoknak fogalma sincs, mi is a baja, – reggel lévén – söpröget. A söprű egy érdekes növényből készül, hasonlatos egy legyezőhöz, a formája nagyon tetszett, ám azzal szerintem csak a port lehet felverni. Ha valaki – történetesen én – még ájultan hever, izzadságfürdőt vesz éppen műszálas lepedőjén, határozottan értékeli a háziasszony tisztaságszeretetét.
Azt is nagyon díjaztam, amikor a szorgalmas szomszéd neki látott betonozni, hiszen valahogyan demonstrálnia kell a külvilág felé gazdagságát. A ház körüli növényeket részben cserépben, részben pedig földbe ültetik. És a szorgalmas szomszéd fogja magát, és a növények szárát szorosan körbe betonozza, tehát ha kipusztul, akkor ott lyuk marad. Ez teljesen logikus számomra. És az is, hogy a nem fehér embernek való hőséget a beton éjjel-nappal, megállás nélkül okádja magából, tehát a szorgalmas – igen sovány, pici méretű, gyűrött fejű, sanda szemű – szomszéd öngólt rúgott már megint.
Bocs, egy kicsit elidőztem a szomszédnál, de még a családnál tartok, ahol a huszonegy éves Francis dúdolgatva öblögeti száját kedvenc tisztálkodási helyemen. Ő kommunikációs főiskolára jár, hetente kétszer edzést tart a főiskolásoknak, ez meg is látszik izomzatán. Mindezeken felül két televíziós csatornába jár műszaki munkát végezni – persze éhbérért. Angolul ír egy nagyon igényes diáklapba. Le a kalappal előtte. Utólag hozzáteszem: ezekben az években – ma 2025.02.10-ét írunk – már Új-Zélandon dolgozik valami komoly számítógépes cégnél. Nagyon jól megfizetik, munkahelye igen kényelmes házat ad neki lakásként.
Van egy jó tulajdonsága: ha fénykép-készítésről van szó, ő mindig előkerül, és a fő helyen láthatja az utókor.
Ezt valószínűleg apjától leshette el, mert a tizenvalahány évig tartó házasság utolsó éveiben, amennyiben lencsevégre kapták a férfinem eme díszpéldányát, mindenkit eltakar délceg alakjával – legfőképpen Angélát –, mintegy jelezve, hogy senki nem olyan szép és egyedi, mint ő. Érdekfeszítő egyénisége nem bírja az egynejűséget, és elhagyta családját egy másik nőért, aki messziről nyilván izgalmasabbnak tűnt, pedig annak is mind a két lába egészen a földig ért. (Utólagos megjegyzés: akkor még így tudtam a sztorit, de az apa dolgozni ment Dubajba, és nem vett el senkit sem, de nem állítom: hogy nem is pártfogolt senkit sem.
Dubajban van egy bevezetett szokás – csak férfiaknak kedvezve: az iszlám vallásnak megfelelően akár egy egész üdvhadserege lehet csajokból. Persze ehhez pénz is kell. Itt kell megjegyezni, hogy ő sosem lesz dubai állampolgár annak ellenére, hogy dubai nőt vesz el feleségül.
Kriszti nővére viszont (pár évvel idősebb csak) dubai férfihoz ment – egy három éves apró gyermekük van. Öt év múlva már ő is teljes jogú állampolgárrá válik. Az alanyi jog pedig komoly havi jövedelmet hoz minden polgárnak. Grace, hogy ne legyen kiszolgáltatva férje kénye-kedvének – elég a csador viselete -, a tanult szakmájában elment dolgozni. Emelt szintű ápoló. (A gyerekeikhez baba-felvigyázót fogadnak.) Fizetéséből támogatja a családját. Dubai-ban legjobban a „beltagok” járnak jól. Ők kapják a legzsírosabb állásokat plusz az állami apanázst mellé. Nem sajnálom őket.
A huszonötödik évében járó Krisztina, Dani választottja szintén a tettek embere. Egy doboz tele van a különböző tanulmányi versenyek első helyezettjének járó oklevelekkel. Nemcsak osztály-, hanem iskola-elsőként példája lehetett sok lusta gyerkőcnek. Most egy kicsit molett, mert már két hónapja nincs munkája, és az otthonlét senkinek nem tesz jót.
Csábító női bájak
A tizenöt éves, ragyogó, sűrű hosszú hajú, mindig mosolygós Beácska, unokatesó minőségben friss péksüteményért siet a közeli boltba. Belőle nemsokára egy csinos pofikájú, dekoratív, szépre, jóra fogékony, fiatal hölgy lesz. Ami részben jó hír, ám az egyik tévé műsorban azon témáztak, hogy mely azon foglalkozások közül az első öt, ahol a dolgozó ki van téve a női bájak csábításának. S mivel ellenállhatatlannak tartja azokat, így nemi erőszakot kénytelen elkövetni. Íme Bea középen. Én még ilyen kedves teremtéssel nem találkoztam, mint ő volt:
Többek között a száguldó tricikliseket is ide sorolták. (A sok kipufogó gáztól begőzölnek.) És ezek után már nem tartottam kényeskedésnek, hogy a nőket mindig kíséri egy rokon vagy barát, ha közlekednek. A közeli boltban persze – és máshol sem – nem lehet kenyeret kapni, csak ők annak mondják, de igazából hóka színű, enyhén édeskés kalács jellegű pékáruról beszélünk.
Csak a megérkezésünket követő napon jöttem rá, hogy ha mi délután kettőkor térnénk magunkhoz az éjszakai kábulatból, akkor ők, mint udvarias házigazdák, délután kettőig várnának engem és Danit, hogy asztalhoz üljünk és velük reggelizzünk. Az asztalon mindenféle állagú, színű, formájú kaják várnak a szépen megterített asztalon. Evés előtt mindig közösen imádkozunk. Boldogan mutatnak egy tengeri szörnyellákat tartalmazó tálkára:
Nagyon finom, feltétlenül meg kell kóstolnod –, biztatnak ellentmondást nem tűrően.
Fél óráig imádkoztam, mire nagy nehezen két falatot számba tettem – amikből nem lógtak ki csápok és egyéb alkatrészek. Hasonlatosak voltak egy párolt öntözőcső darabkáira. Miután lenyeltem a falatokat, megtapsoltak.
Hogy ízlett? – kérdezték csillogó szemmel.
Nagyon finom, de talán lemondanék arról, hogy a család többi tagja elöl elegyem. – Miért esztek csak fehér rizst, amikor legalább húszféle van belőle?
Mert ez finom. – Természetesen kifejtettem volna pld. a barna rizs egészséges mibenlétét, de akkor tudálékosnak hatottam volna.
Figyeltem a tévé műsorokat – persze csak félszemmel –, érzékeltem, semmi értelmes dologgal nem foglalkoztak. Az egészséggel kapcsolatosakat meg különösen kerülték. Mindent olajban megsütnek, a filippinek apró méretű banánját is, a rizs mindig (a reggelit is beleértve) fő helyen szerepel, a banánból is sokféle csemegét készítenek, amik nem biztos, hogy belopták a szívembe magukat, mert túlságosan sziruposak voltak. Szeretik a húst minden mennyiségben. Ezek között ugyanúgy szerepel a csirke, mint a marha vagy disznóhús, a hal. A nyers zöldségeket nem kultiválják, amin igen csodálkoztam. Azt hallottam, hogy nem vetik meg a szeszes italt, én azalatt a három hét alatt egy gyűszűnyi italt nem láttam, még messziről sem. Ritkán láttam dohányzó filippinót. Ezek már a „gazdag” kategóriába tartoznak – azt hiszem.
Krisztus közöttünk él
Többségében katolikusok, azt is mondhatom, vallásos nemzet. Az ország déli csücskében muzulmánok laknak, és a két vallás képviselői időről időre összecsapnak egymással. Többször megfigyelhettem: Krisztus személyét a hétköznapokba úgy belefonják, mint a gyermeklány hajfonatába az ünnepi fényes szalagot. A motoron „I love Krisztus” matrica, nincs olyan család, ahol ne lenne a fő helyen egy hatalmas kép, amin valamelyik jelenetet láthatjuk Isten gyermekének életéből. Az autók belsejében, főleg az ablak fölött szőttest látni. Az egyiken ezt hímezték bele: „Save us God.” Bizony nagy szükségünk van mindannyiunknak erre.
Egyik vasárnap délután Makátiba mentünk egy katolikus istentiszteletre, amiből nem sokat értettem, de láthattam, hogy a papot nagy becsben tartják a hívők.
Annyian voltak, hogy a szentmise alatt a templomot körben sűrű, tömött sorokban hívő tömeg ostromolta. Az épület két oldalát praktikusan oldották meg, mert csak oszlopok tartják az oldalfalakat. Ennek a szellős megoldásnak különböző válfajait láttam, mert ha nagyon ragaszkodnának a hagyományos, zártabb építészethez, állandóan elsősegélynyújtó mentőszolgálatot is kellene üzemeltetni azokon a helyeken, ahol tömegek jönnek össze.
Csak el ne tűnj a kanyarban
Ha tömegközlekedésre került a sor, mindig belém költözött az élet, mert alamuszinak nem lehetett lenni. Ott nincsenek buszmegállók, menetrend, és mégis mindenki tudja, hol kell várakoznia az út mentén, oda ér, ahová iparkodik. (A BKV-nak ide kéne három hétre a zúgolódó utasokat száműznie, hogy soha többet ne morogjanak.) A vélt, illetve szájhagyomány útján terjedő állomásokon rikkancs-szerű, irtó sovány emberkék próbálják az utasokat becsalogatni a dzsipbe. Nekik ez a foglalkozásuk, hogy messze hangzó hangon kiabálják a menetrendet.
A képen látható dzsipnél sokkal ütött-kopottabbak is üzemelnek. Ott csak a jó Istennek köszönhetik a kedves utasok, hogy élve megússzák az utazást.
Vaslépcsőkön mászunk be a busz belsejébe, össze-hajtogatottan, mert ki nem tudunk egyenesedni. Hátul és a sofőrnél, illetve a mellette levő helyeken ajtó nincs. Egy kanyarban könnyen eltűnhet bárki, ha éppen nem érzi magát jól. Biztonsági övről még csak hírből sem hallottak. Nincs „megengedett személyek száma”. Annyian utaznak, amennyien beférnek. Egyik alkalommal már épp vettem volna levegőt, merthogy megtelt az autó, amikor oda rohant egy család, hogy ők is épp arra jönnek. Így aztán a papa, mama és a gyerekek már is beljebb nyomultak. (Még szerencse, hogy kisméretűek a filippínók.) Ez a dzsip olyan, mint egy rabszállító kocsi, csak mindenféle színekkel, mintákkal pingálják tele. Nem ritkán még a tetején is utaznak. Amennyiben megtelt az autó, akkor a pénzt hátulról előre adogatjuk kézről kézre.
A sofőr hátra nyúl a viteldíjakért. A papír pénzt – nem egyszer láttam – összepöndörítik, és ezeket a tekercseket feltűzik a fejük fölé vagy az ujjaik közé készítik, és így fogják a kormánykereket, hogy könnyebben tudjanak visszaadni. Számla nincs, valószínűleg átalányban adóznak.
Egyik kedvenc járművem, a száguldó tricikli: motorhoz pótkocsit kapcsolnak. Spéci tetőszerkezet jár mindkettőhöz – gazdától és pénztől függő stabilitásról beszélhetünk. Úgy néz ki, mint egy szétesni készülő cserebogár. A pótkocsiba ketten préselik be magukat, sőt, még a csomagok is beférnek. A motor vezetője mögött is van egy hely. Az utas féloldalasan ül, mint az antik világban az úri nők a lovon, vagyis nem a sofőrbe kapaszkodik, hanem a feje fölötti tetőre felszerelt hosszanti fogantyúba – ha szerencséje van. Kész élmény itt utazni, mert végre egy kis levegő is ér bennünket, és sokkal inkább élvezhetjük a hatalmas tülekedést, érezzük az előrejutás minden másodpercét. Nagyon sajnálom, hogy csak az utolsó kettő közlekedésemnél váltottam erre a lehetőségre, mert ugyan jóval veszélyesebb, ugyanakkor semmi nem kerüli el figyelmünket.
A manilai metrón hihetetlen emberanyag jön-megy, tülekedik rutinosan. Itt is és minden bevásárló központban megnézik a táskáját mindenkinek, hátha merényletre készül, mint ahogy már volt erre precedens. Öt kasszánál egyenként száz ember áll sorba. Türelmetlenségnek nincs helye. (Én meg ha tíz ember van előttem a pénztárhoz várva, már idegbajos vagyok!) Na, most akkor már ötszáz ember van a helyiségben, ehhez még özönlik a nép. A százöt-millió lelket számláló fillipinók közül mindig vannak pár ezren, akik a metrón utaznak naponta. Még olyan nem volt, hogy át ne adják rögtön a helyüket. Most vagy annyira öregnek néztek, vagy pedig udvariasak.
Az úttesten hol fel vannak festve a záróvonalak és társaik, hol pedig eltűnnek a nagy semmibe. Igaz, amennyiben léteznének ezek a közlekedést elősegít jelek, senki nem vennék azokat figyelembe.
A főváros forgalmas helyein sem értettem, miért állt a lámpás kereszteződésnél egy rendőr, aki ugyan próbálta a népet kordában tartani, de teljesen felesleges volt iparkodása, hiszen mind a gyalogos áradat, mind a tülekedő gépkocsisor teljesen önkényes ütemben áradt szét minden irányba, mint amikor a szívizom pumpálja a vért az erekbe. Aztán csak legyintett, és szerintem beadta a lemondását, miután visszakullogott a rendőr őrsre.
Ott is beszedik az adót a járművek tulajdonosaitól az út-fejlesztésre. A fővároshoz közel, az úton keresztben őrbódés kapukon haladunk át, ahol csak fizetés ellenében lehet tovább menni. Ekkor, mint a megrészegedett darazsak neki lódul mindenki, és teljesen mindegy, hogy balról vagy jobbról előzünk. Az megy előbb, aki hangosabban dudál és gyorsabban szedi a gumijait. Ha itt vezetném a kis Suzukimat, teljesen otthonosan tenném, mert ez a stílus közel áll szabadságot kedvelő lelkemhez, ahol a közlekedési szabályokat csak hírből ismerik.
Imádom a pálmafákat, amelyek törzsei nyílegyenesen törnek az ég felé, és a tetejében, mint valami ajándék, bolondos kalap, királyi korona ott bodrozódik, terül szét a lombja. Ha csak nem barbár módon szedik le az út mentén a gyümölcseit, mint ahogy jó párszor láttam. Szinte lehántották a fél fát csak azért, mert lusták voltak a banán betakarítására kellő gondot fordítani. (De ezt csak én találtam ki, mert az is lehet, hogy hatalmas viharok tettek kárt a banánfákban.)
Ezt a képet a dubaji repülőtérről – belső tér – a netről vadásztam le nektek. Sajnos – ahogy már mondtam valahol -, akkor még nem „utaztam” fényképek készítésében, mekkora nagy kár! Valószínűleg ez abból adódott, hogy mint újságírónak csak a témák megválasztása és azok megírása volt a dolgom. A lap fotósának volt a feladata a fotózás.
A témához szorosan kapcsolódik a dubaji repülőtér, melynek ovális alapján két sorban életem legmagasabb, legegyenesebb törzsű csodálatos pálmafáit láttam. Ha már itt időzök, akkor gyorsan láttatom ezt a nemzetközi csomópontot. A tetőszerkezet speciális üvegből készült, mely kellően megszűri a gyilkos napsugarakat, ám csodálatos megvilágításban láthatjuk a hatalmas teret, ahol aki lustább, a belső, több száz méteren futó szalagon haladhat a táskáival. Az oszlopokat csavart, fifikás aranyminták övezik. Mindenütt tömör, drága, a lépések zaját elnyelő padlószőnyegen járunk, ahol a keleti népek előszeretettel táboroznak törökülésben, arccal befelé a körbe nézve vagy elheverve. Várják a csatlakozást. Szívesen kimentem volna, egy kicsit körbe nézni, de vízum nélkül már a kapuban lekapcsoltak volna.
Környezetvédelem
A környezetvédelem nem tartozik a kipipálandó feladatok közé. Persze én csak a szemmel látható dolgokról tudok beszámolni. A főváros felé véve utunkat, szembe tűnt egy kellemes nagy víztömeg. Ha vizet látok, az úszás jut eszembe.
Visszafelé úszhatnánk egy kicsit itt –, tettem a magától értetődő javaslatomat.
Nem lehet –, hallom a bölcs választ. – A gyárak belevezetik egy az egybe a mocskukat. – Ennek ellenére láttam, hogy a vízparton szorosan, szigorúan egymáshoz tapadva, egy piciny levegőt sem hagyva a másiknak támaszkodtak egymásnak a bádogházak. És, hogy a vízzel milyen kapcsolatuk voltak, jobb, ha nem tudom.
Egy biztos, az egészségügy még siralmasabb állapotban van, mint itthon – amennyiben ez valakit is vigasztal. Angélát, a kedves nászasszonyom betegségét már hosszú hónapok óta nem tudták diagnosztizálni. Szed gyógyszereket, de kérdem én minek, ha nem is tudják, mi a baja.
Itt az orvosok nem tudnak semmit –, legyintettek egyöntetűen keserűen. – Csak a gazdagok tudják megfizetni az orvosi ellátást. Ha pld. valakinek inzulinra lenne szüksége, akkor – hazai pénzben átszámítva – napi 6-7 ezer forintba kerülne ez a kezelés.
Erre nem tudtam, mit válaszolni. Úgy látszik, a hatalmas népszaporulat nem serkenti a vezérkart arra, hogy többet szánjanak az egészségügy finanszírozására. Jut is, marad is – mondják.
Bár a tavalyi gazdasági mutatók alapján – Kína után – a második helyre sorolják be a Fülöp-Szigeteket, ám a szegénységi mutatók maradnak továbbra is a béka feneke alatt. A hatalmas tömegeknek ugyanaz a nyomor dukál, akár dübörög a gazdaság, akár nem, mint évszázadokkal ezelőtt. Minden ötödik percben éhen hal egy gyermek, az éhség közelsége belénk égeti bélyegjét, kézzel fogható.
Hálás pillantás
Egyik alkalommal, amikor egy forgalmas kereszteződésben vártuk, hogy a mikrobusz végre elinduljon, nem volt más dolgom, mint néztem a hullámzó tömeget a kirakatok előtt, illetve az utakon, hogy tapossák egymást a legkülönbözőbb járművek. Megláttam egy végtelenül sovány nőt az út másik oldalán, azért tűnt fel nekem, mert a többiek fölé magaslott. Egy meghatározhatatlan színű lebernyeget viselt, három hónapos kisbabáját jobb vállára „csapta”, úgy hordta, mint egy boát. Öles léptekkel haladt előre, fúrta magát a tömegbe. Nem tudom, miért gondolom, hogy az éhséggel futott versenyt. Utána egy három év körüli kis fiúcska rohanó léptekben. Hirtelen ötlettől vezérelve, kivettem a táskámból egy zacskót, amiben félretett kaja volt, és átkeltem a másik oldalra.
